Economic empowerment is essential for dignity, self-reliance and household stability. Vulnerable women and youth often lack skills, capital, networks, market access, financial services and business mentorship. Without economic opportunity, communities remain dependent on aid and youth may face negative coping mechanisms or exploitation.

HRI’s Economic Empowerment cluster builds skills, confidence and market participation. It should provide vocational training, entrepreneurship support, savings mechanisms, business coaching, financial literacy and linkages to local markets. The cluster complements food security but also extends beyond agriculture to include tailoring, micro-enterprise, digital skills, service businesses and youth innovation.
